KIIRO PRESSKIT
With its sample based beats and hard-hitting drums blasting ‘bakibaki’ through the speakers,
the Rotterdam artist makes Dutch hip-hop with influences from his Japanese background.
Aran Abe aka KIIRO, born 2000 Tokyo Japan, lives and works in Rotterdam. The stage name KIIRO
is a nod to his Japanese background. KIIRO means yellow in Japanese.
KIIRO’s concise lyrics, in combination with his choice of words, low voice and lazy way of rapping
demand immediate attention.
In 2022 he won the Sena Performers Grote Prijs of Rotterdam for best Hip-hop act,
and he has been nominated for the Rotterdam Music Awards in the category “The Promise”.
On Friday, May 19, 2023, he released his debut EP “Gogetter”.
For this he has done two radio interviews at FunX and a mini-tour of three shows including:
– Bevrijdingsfestival South Holland May 5 with a live band
– EP Release Party at BIRD with Lusho & Brokezart on May 17th
– A show in Paard café The Hague May 19
With his single “Hoofd Vooruit” he has been invited to perform the track at radiostation FunX, and the national newspaper AD has written an article about him.
In addition to rapping on his own tracks, KIIRO regularly works on productions for other artists.
As a producer he also regularly collaborates on productions for commercials & TV with a number of companies including: Sizzer & Massivemusic in Amsterdam and in Tokyo.
